WORKSHOP 1: Writing for the digital age - Focus on Story
Nga Aho Whakaari
1 Hour Screenwriting workshop referenced to new digital platforms by defining our story anchors and how we use them.
Attendees should turn up with at least one story idea they would like to pitch for a maximum of three minutes.

WORKSHOP 2: “Pimp yo Pitch”

1 Hour Workshop
A fast paced session on refining your tools for selling your idea’s to someone else, ef funder, programmer, distributor.
Attendees will pitch their ideas for a maximum of three mintues and ptiches will be critiqued by facilitators and other attendees.

WORKSHOP 3: Finding a Maori voice - Preparing for the Digital Revolution
Nga Aho Whakaari and Script to Screen Writer’s Room
A one hour discussion event incorporating clips from short films Tangaroa by Tikidub, and Taua by Te Arepa Kahi.
Discussion facilitated by Pita Turei and Simon Marler
SUNDAY MAY 3 WORKSHOPS AT THE SHAMBLES THEATRE
11am - 1pm
WORKSHOP 4: “Restoring the Mauri of Lake Omapere”
Documentary, 78 mins produced by Simon Marler, Karen Browne and Mari Gunn on behalf of the Maringi Noa O Te Manawa Trust and directed by Simon Marler
A screening of the documentary and discussion on the issues this film raises relating to bi culture ki Aotearoa, environment and Maori film.
Following a short break Simon Marler and Pita Turei will facilitate a discussion relating to the issues raised by the documentary.
